Chair of the Icelandic Kennel Club (HRFÍ) Show Committee for many years, as well as the Judges' Education Committee. She has served, and continues to serve, on the Board of the Icelandic Kennel Club. She has also served on the Legal Committee, Disciplinary Committee and Breeding & Standards Committee, and was an instructor at the HRFÍ Dog Training School for many years.

Lilja Dóra grew up with Icelandic Sheepdogs and joined the Icelandi Kennel Club in 1988. She owned Labrador Retrievers for many years before importing her first Shetland Sheepdog from Sweden in 1998 while living in Belgium. Her kennel prefix, Undralands, was registered in 1999. In 2015, Herdis joined the kennel with her Australian Shepherds.

She has been the HRFÍ Breed Contact Person for the Shetland Sheepdog since 2010 and served for many years on the board of the HRFÍ Sheepdogs and Cattle Dogs Section.

In recognition of her contributuions to the Icelandic Kennel Club, She as awarded the HRFÍ Gold Pin and Honorary Membership in 2017.

Former president of the Icelandic Kennel Club (HRFÍ). She has served on the club's Disciplinary Committee, and has served and continues to serve, on the Legal Committee, Judges' Education Committee, and Show Committee. Herdis served for a term on the FCI Europe Section Board and has represented the Icelandic Kennel Club in various Nordic Kennel Union (NKU) and FCI assignments.

Herdis owned a Rough Collie before acquiring her first Australian Shepherd in 2008. In 2015, she joined Lilja Dora in the Undralands kennel with her Australian Shepherds. Today, the family shares their home with three Shetland Sheepdogs.
